Rescue my Donation

Never lose another donation again.

6% of donors try to donate, but their donation fails. That’s a lot of lost donations (over 1.8 million NIS in IsraelGives in 2016 alone). Rescue my Donation is a new service from IsraelGives that helps to ensure that every failed donation turns into a successful one, using chatbots and special algorithms to identify those donors whose donations you can rescue.

About the Service

In 2016, 6% of all donors who tried to donate online, didn’t succeed. Either they entered the wrong credit card number, or wrong expiry date, or something happened that caused their donation to fail.

Back when people donated in person or by telephone, your representative could help to fix the mistake and successfully process the donation. But for online donations, where people donate by themselves, you don't have anyone standing by to help, and as a result, the donor, who really wanted to donate, doesn't.

If your organization is fundraising online, this affects you. Almost every organization that we work with suffered a failed donation, costing them over 1.8 million NIS in lost donations.

IsraelGives wants to help you stop these lost donations. So starting immediately, we're offering members of IsraelGives two unique services, that you'll only find here:
IsraelGives ChatBot
Now, whenever a donor’s donation fails, we instantly open a ChatBot (automated live chat), and offer to help the donor complete their donation. The IsraelGives staff (from our Tel Aviv offices) then guides the donor, online or by phone, in making the donation.

Rescue my Donation
If the donor doesn’t respond to the chat, we don't give up. After all, this is a donor who wants to donate, and we can't let this opportunity get lost. So, 1 hour after he tried to make the donation, we'll email the donor, using the template that you provide, offering to help the donor to make his donation.
How do you know to target the right donors?
The really difficult work here is targeting the right donors: That's the job of our unique algorithm, which locates all donors who tried to donate and failed, and then didn't make another successful donation within a 2 hour period.
Does this system actually work?
In our beta-period, over 40% of donors that we reached out to ended up making their donations. That saved the organizations that we helped over ₪50,000.
If the donor still hasn't donated, can I get his details, so that I can contact them myself, or at least add them to my mailing list?
Through the Rescue my Donation page in your IsraelGives account, all of the donor's details are available to you, including email, telephone, and address. We also track the value of all of the donations that you've lost because donors didn't complete their donations, and also how many donations we've helped you to "rescue".
How much does using this system cost?
Later on we may charge for it. Right now it's free for all members of IsraelGives.
Great - how do I start?
Click here to visit the new page (you can also find it in your IsraelGives account under "Donations >> Rescue my Donation"). You'll already see all of the donations that you "lost" over the last year - feel free to reach out to these donors, or at least to add them to your mailing list. You can then activate the auto-email service, and prepare the template of the email that you want sent to the almost-donor, in English and in Hebrew.
